What I've been up to

As I type, Handsome is sleeping on my lap. I can't move although my entire left leg, like the ENTIRE. LEG. is numb. BUT HE'S SOOO CUUUTE!!!!

Okay, so for the past few days I've been caring for Handsome, as usual. I've been off the computer as well cause I need to head to the hospital regularly. I've also started preparing gifts for Valentine's (I'm done with three people's!) because I have some time. So might as well start early. (:

I'm done with Samuel's birthday present (his is tomorrow by the way) I've been paying attention in (most) classes. I drew a Garfield comic as well. Okay that's about it. Bye!

I haven't blogged in 10 days.

And he was born on 19th October 2011. So he's only three months old. Super hyperactive! Like, insanely hyperactive. Which was why I didn't use the computer AT ALL. I could only update via my phone actually.

He's really small as well. Here's a reference:

And by the way, I have a small feet.

He rarely sleeps. He runs all over the place. Bites everything (including me. which hurts). Licks everything. Chew random dangerous objects like wires and sockets. Basically EVERYTHING except his chew toys. (-.-) So I have to follow him around the house.

He trembles if he steps out of the house so I'm not gonna bring him out until he's older. (: Bought him a cat's colar cause his neck is just soooo puny. But he hates it. So I bought a dog colar but it's too big (although it's the smallest one available) and he keeps biting it so we took off the colar in the end.

He wins.

He's super sai nai (clingy) anyway. Typical puppy. He pees and poops everywhere and anywhere he desires, which is quite annoying but he's so cute that I can't stand it.

So anyway, I can only take clear photos of him when he's sleepy or asleep lol.

He sleeps in dark places (duh) so the photo quality is bad.

He's so much cuter in real life! The photos don't do justice. He's smart too, and he acts cute with a whiny voice when he does something wrong or when he wants our attention (even when we're eating or bathing or sleeping or anything)

Anyway, in case you're wondering why I have the time to blog... He's sleeping now. Yes, int he afternoon. later in the night he'll jump around crazily and stuff. He's nocturnal. I'm using a lot of 'he' s. He's cute and adoooorable.

Borrowed two books recently:

1. The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom

Genuinely boring (to me at least, practically everyone else I know loves it to tiny bits and pieces. I'm forcing myself to finish reading just to get a gist of what the story is about.) It's not exactly my preferred sort of read.

2. FOOD INC. by Peter Pringle

PRINGLES! By the way I don't like Pringles cause it's like fake potato chips. As in, the true shape of potatoes is not retained. And retained is a sensitive word in my level currently. Oh well.

I've yet to read this, but the first few pages seemed interesting and I kind of like the way genetically modified food is being described in the book. It's telling you the things you know in a nicely-phrased manner I guess. At least that's what I got from the first few pages.

I'm quite disappointed because I've requested a couple of books but the school didn't buy them. :( They're available on Amazon.com only (I think) Some books seemed interesting. I've googled and scouted on some forums for fascinating reads, and I'm keen on reading some of Cracked.com's books (or soooome of their contributor's) as well. Meeeeh.

I shouldn't read as much this year though, I've loads of work to do and catch up. A levels go go go!

By the way in case you don't know him (and you somehow missed my title) he's Kwang Su (or rather, KwangVatar) and he's ultra tall. He's the maknae (youngest) in Running Man and this is him when he won an award recently at the SBS Entertainment Awards. :P By the way a lot of Running Man members received awards. Haha, Ji Hyo, Joong Kook, Kwang Su, Jae Suk. (If I remembered correctly)

Basically, you just have to read this small compilation of fascinating facts, photos, awesome movies and videos that I found over the net. They are really not bad, so please, do enjoy. (:

If you have a bit more time on your hand to waste (assuming that you have finished all your holiday assignments, or don't plan to start) here's two Youtube movies that I STROOOOONGLY recommend. They're all pretty insightful.

Lastly, you can watch the movie, Home on Youtube. It's an hour and a half by the way, and it's really really awesome so you should check it out.

The graphics are genuinely amazing and so is the narration. It's the kind of documentary that will leave you intrigued. Definitely loads of food for thought.

Nanook of the North is regarded as the first significant nonfiction feature, made in the days before the term "documentary" had even been coined. It makes me want to have an awesome DSLR camera as well! Boo hoo.

Love the shades of black and the super furry coat! It looks insanely comfortable I don't mind wearing this as my PJs.

Why is this awesome? Because capes are always cool, and blue capes with black underlines are gorgeous. Bright yellow or orange would have been cuter though.

Anyway, they are super playful and greedy and hungry all the time. The staff feed them bananas thrice a day and there are 20 of them. They always let the biggest squirrel eat first otherwise a fight will ensue. Coooooooooooooooooooool.

Yes, it's the cat that poops rainbows!

So anyway, this Christmas isn't exactly all that Christmasey for me. I fell sick on Christmas eve, sneezed a chunk of greenish yellowish stuff, and practically spent my whole day sneezing. Yeah.

As for Christmas day, which is today... First and foremost, I went for my horse-riding lesson. Then I took Strepsils and flu medicine which made me ULTRA DROWSY. Came back home, browsed through all of SNSD's Christmas Fairy Tales performances (here's the link, you're welcome) Thought about how much money is spent on the props and the oh-so-gorgeous-and-darn-beautiful dresses, thought about how I'll not go for prom, and started blogging.

No logcakes, no turkeys (cause I refused to succumb to festive price hikes although Dad doesn't mind a single bit.) I can't even sleep (although I'm so drowsy I think I'm gonna faint) as I have steamboat lunch/dinner later on at Ah Ma's house. (It's weird, I don't say Ahgong's house)

Isn't it amazing, how trees can stretch their roots far and wide? How the roots can turn a rock over, how the roots can make cracks in concrete? It's as though nature has triumphed in the age of technology.

Such a scar reminds me of stretch marks on once-pregnant women, something perceived as ugly, hideous even. But so beautiful and ever-lasting.

Went to St.Joseph's Home for the second time today. Met Jude! :D His grandparents are from Portugal by the way. He's 52 (CANNOT TELL AT ALL) He can't really talk so he have to spell out words via an alphabet chart. Chatted for hours and it was really meaningful! (: It really pains me to see him struggling sometimes.

His full name is Dunstan Jude Beins and his family visits him once in two months. His favourite food is chicken rice. His dream is to dance and he wants to be a DJ because he loves records. He loves Michael Jackson and the color black because it's sexy. He has a sister and brother (62) and his parents. (:

He is awesome at giving us English names. Shuyu: Susan, Desheng: Ben, Shuoren: Billy. He knows Malay and he taught us a few words. He drinks eight glasses of water a day although it's difficult to. He is extremely jovial and happy. He lives in room C. He always does a thumbs up with his left hand when we got something right. He always gets two glasses of water (must be full and it cannot be the plastic cup cause it's difficult to hold) and they must be consumed after food.

Going back in January!

P.S: Teared when he spelt out 'I miss home'. We should all learn to treasure.

Lemony Snicket's A series of Unfortunate Events

This is a reeeeeeeeeeeally old movie, yes I know. But I just watched it and I love it! :D

Here're a few reasons why you should watch it too. (In case you, you know, haven't.)

1. The narrator is awesome.

2. It leaves you intrigued. It's the kind of movie/book that is overflowing with creativity.

3. Watch for the beautiful clothes in the movie. They are all strikingly dull yet charming. Love love love love love them. It's not as extravagant and colourful as Alice in Wonderland but this is better, or rather, I prefer this. Bonus: They adhere to the same dark-feelingish theme!

4. The houses, the everything, the everything, fits.

5. There's an utlra cute baby, an insanely gorgeous girl, and a guy that's sure to end up good looking. FYI, that girl's Emily Browning (her hair is, after all, browning) and in case you're wondering how she looks like NOW, here's a googled image:

Okay so anyway, let us diverge away from the cast... Okay, Lemony Snicket! I got curious about his other works and so, I did what everyone else would have done. Google.

He has a few other publications (which I think are awesome for children this Christmas. Yes, I just saved you from thinking what to buy for that young cousin of yours. Books as gifts are definitely more worthwhile than stupid decorations or soft toys that will simply lay forgotten. At least books will be read, at least once, before being left alone. Food is the best, followed by clothes. Not like children will think this way but still... being very pragmatic here. Okay where was I?)

Cute panda says hi! And I bought three covers for $10 only at a pasar malam! :D Got my Dad two (superman and cash designs)

I think you need you hold ctrl and scroll to scale down the pictures. They're colossal. And you know why?

BECAUSE iPhone 4S's CAMERA ROCKS!

I love it! It's way better than 3Gs, it's clearer as well and the lighting is a lot better. (: Cannot tell from the photos though, cause I used the secondary camera. AND HURRAY FOR SECONDARY CAMERAS! (I know 4S have luh, but I've only got 3Gs so yeap) And it takes pictures instantaneously after focusing. (:

Siri is a pain though. It hates me.

Even the secondary camera isn't bad! (: Oh and do download the photo applications, they are FREE. Go to "Top Free" under photos and videos, it should be there. (: Called luminous or something.

The only problem is that I can't get ALL my contacts cause the last sync was a long time ago. (jail broke my phone and I can't get the latest IOS, or sync for that matter) Sorry if you messaged and I asked who you are~

Anyway the battery life is PATHETIC. Seriously. Oh well.

The above is Jason Gidding' Kickstarter project and it has been fully funded! It's expected to be in the market in April next year. HURRAY!

It looks cool, but not practical I know. I prefer the sounds of the buttons being pressed rapidly, one after the other. It makes it sound like I'm typing faster than I already am. And I like to push buttons.

Polarized glasses, because I hate it when people I'm not close to look over my shoulder or try to see what I'm doing. Seriously quit it. And I would appreciate if you looked away when I'm typing my password as well.

I would always go for 70% (and 50%, if I'm with Dad cause he's particular about this kind of things) and I would always regret. Cause what is bubble tea without a truckload of sinful sugar? It wouldn't taste good, or as good, then I might well as well don't drink.

Hmm... What sugar level would you order?

P.S: OKTea (or at least the one in Jurong Point, located in the smaller NTUC, opposite Sweet Talk, at the basement. No idea WHY they want to have two NTUCs though.) gives WAY TOO MUCH CANCEROUS BLACK CHEWY BALLS. Seriously my jaws nearly came off.

Not like I take care of my face... Oh well. At least I wash it and I'm starting to use moisturiser. :D (Cause my nose was burnt the other day, HURTS LIKE MAD. The skin isn't flaking off though.)

How To: Make poached eggs.

They are insanely tricky to prepare BUT THEY TASTE SO GOOD! It's similar, but different from half-boiled eggs but I don't really know how to describe the difference.

I first tasted poached eggs during a lunchbreak from work a few weeks ago. (mioTV promoter at NEX)

The picture is very dark and blur due to the lighting and my camera, but mostly due to the fact that I was too hungry to take a proper shot.

So, I got a recipe from helpwithcooking! After all, if you're bored during the holidays this is something you should try.

Poached eggs recipe

Method

Fill a saucepan with 3 inches of cold water, add a pinch of salt and bring to the boil.
For your first attempt at preparing poached eggs, you may want to carefully break each egg onto a small cup, plate or bowl before adding it to the water.
As the water reaches boiling point, reduce the heat and allow the water to simmer.
Add 1 tablespoon of vinegar to the water.

Slide the eggs into the water with care, holding the cup or plate as near to the water as possible before allowing the egg to slowly slip into the water.
For the more experienced cooks, break the egg above the pan and let it slip straight into the water.
Once the eggs are in the water, do not move them around. Let the eggs cook for 2½ - 3½ minutes, allowing for the size of the egg and the preferred doneness of the egg yolks.
Remove each egg with a slotted spoon and drain for a few seconds on kitchen paper. Trim any stringy or dangling bits with a knife or scissors if you wish and serve immediately

Have fun trying! (and maybe failing? But try, try, try again.)

P.S: The first horse riding lesson was pretty noob (referring to myself) My pony (the instructor says it's a pony but it's so big I think it's a horse.) goes by the name of Cody and he is ULTRA VIOLENT. He keeps moving his neck down, practically thrusting it forward to get the reins out of my hands. I held really tight but he's ultra strong. Got a couple of burns I think.

I've been finding a lot of awesome and interesting things nowadays. I'm thinking of always doing a "CURE YOUR BOREDOM WITH... (insert relatively new content)" So I shall share some of the nicer ones here on my blog in hope of making my posts more cough cough insightful cough cough, or at least more readable la hor.

So anyway, 监狱兔 was introduced to me by Meng Ying (classmate and PW mate) It's basically about two adorable bunnies dash rabbits!

As as all comedies go, one of them is ultra smart and strong and everything good whereas the other is practically brainless and gets scared really easily.

Both characters DON'T TALK.

I LOVE SHOWS WITH CHARACTERS THAT DON'T TAAAALK! :D (Is there a proper name for it?)

The best part?

IT'S SUPER EASY TO WATCH. By that I mean that it's very accessible! It's available on Youku and even Youtube! Just google the name and you'll find it. Not like Family Guy, American Dad and the ilk, all of which can only be streamed via some really good channels that only gives you half an hour or so of watching time. (Read: $GET PREMIUM$) Or hulu, which is impossible in Singapore. (-.-)

Speaking of which, WHEN WILL THE NEW THE BIG BANG THEORY COME OOOOUT! :(

BOOOOOOOOO!

There are a few seasons, I think there's three thus far. Every episode is only a few minutes long, the entire season possibly ends in half an hour or so. (: So it's good for you to cure your boredom before you proceed to Facebook games for an update LOL.

Season 1: Both bunnies are in jail for some unknown reason. (I'm just gonna call them bunnies since it sounds cuter) I LOVE THE EYES AT THE DOOR. Super cool! The concept of switching doors are pretty awesome. Not gonna spoil it foe you people, but do watch till the end of the Season. (:

Season 2: They escaped! Anyway no matter what happens, the cool bunny is always laid back. Plus he (or who knows, maybe she) will go crazy once in a while to save himself. Quite cute.

Season 3: No idea. I only watched the first 2.

Oh by the way, this chicken is always there. It looks really gross with all the extravagant make-up and stuff I know. It's there to block obscene stuff.

Over all the show is average, quite cute at times, pretty nice animations I would say. Sound effects are... Oh-Kaaaaaay. Still worth a shot though. (:

Steppin' on Leprechauns (at The Pigeonhole)

I hope you know where the title came from. :D (except for the at The Pigeonhole part)

Anyway, went to The Pigeonhole some time ago for a little get-together with fellow Youth.sg campus spies. I didn't take A LOT of photos, not of humans at least.

The sun was BLAAAAAZING like Blaziken. It's an ultra long walk from the MRT station as well, pretty uluh and terrible.

The place was rather cosy, I wouldn't say that it's homely though. There were quite a number of bookshelves scattered with random titles that didn't quite interest me. Furniture didn't match as well, but I guess that's the unique thing about this shop? Yes, it's a shop. A shop for chilling out.

There's even a second storey but it wasn't opened. Oh well.

Shall go watch Running Man episode 69 now! (Hunting grasshopper. The revenge looks sweet.) Till then, see you!

NUTS OVER MACADAMIA NUTS (& photos of SNSD's Taeyeon and Sunny)

I just bought a huge pack of macadamia nuts from Nature's Wonders (the one with the pink or red packaging. You can find it in any leading supermarkets) It's ultra expensive ($12.70 if I remember correctly) as opposed to other noob nuts (lol) like Walnuts (nearly half the price) and cashew nuts (even cheaper)

I think my taste is a tad extreme cause I love macadamia and broad beans (or honey flavoured walnuts. But that's kind of not natural anymore so it isn't counted) Broad beans are considered dirt cheap in the nuts society whereas macadamia is like, right at the other end of the scale.

Weird.

Oh and I hate cashew nuts yuck. Almond isn't exactly delicious as well.

Oh and chewing nuts will build the muscle between your ear lobe and your jaw, resulting in you having a fat face. :( So unfair! I need to stop eating nuts oh my.

The reason why I keep missing Fashion Fridays and doing the post on different days is this: I don't blog hop on Fridays. No idea why though. Okay! That's about the better photos from the websites that I've been blog hopping (and emptying their archives) No idea why I enjoy looking at clothes and shoes although I genuinely prioritize comfort. (So I don't wear heels unless it's a big occasion. Oh and I only have boots and sneakers now, the strap on my heels gave way after I ran in them!)

Dad just bought THE BEST POPCORN EVER! Seriously, I've never tasted any popcorn THIS good. Their slogan is so true! "It's our amazing glaze." I don't even know what the glaze is. Honey and caramel? I don't know but it tastes awesome!

I sound like I've never eaten popcorns before. (-.-)

But seriously, YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS. Although I have to emphasize that not all the popcorns are packed with heaps of pecans and almonds. So the packaging is rather misleading in a sense... BUT IT'S ULTRA DELICIOUS! And I thought caramel was perfect already.

I sound like I'm spazzing over this lol. But really! Try it out! (: It's expensive though. BUT SOOOOO GOOD~

TOUGHEST (FREE) GAMES IN THE WORLD

I read an article on Youth.sg and chanced upon the following games. It's no big deal, except that it's INSANELY DIFFICULT.

#1. QWOP

I can't even get part 3m what is this!?

It's called QWOP (no idea what that stands for) and you can try it by clicking here. Basically, you have to control an athlete's thighs and calves to propel him forward. I think it's impossible.

#2. Another QWOP

Next, is yet another game done by the same dude ~~who probably can't get past the first few stages~~. All you have to do is to click on the corresponding letters to grab hold of the desired points so that you can climb up the tree. If you hold for too long, the rising water will kill you and the game will be over.

#3. World of Goo

This isn't free, but there's a free trial to this. One hour of free gameplay if I remember correctly. (:

All you have to do is to join goo together to form structures so that you can reach your goal!

The difficult thing about this game is that it really annoys you in the later stages. The beginning stages are all easy peasy. But later on you'll find out that the goo isn't as strong as you think and they keep falling apart AT THE LAST MINUTE, making you redo every stage again and again and again (x10000)

It's a cute game though.

24 member girl group?

Leader'S

Seriously? 24 members? That's practically a class.

The popular ones will shine whereas the less popular ones will be left behind despite all the efforts put in in their training. Most of the members would have trained for years and unavoidably neglected their studies in the process. Without a certificate it's hard to even secure jobs that are stable.

Whatever will they do once they're not famous or beautiful anymore? It's a sad fact, but a fact nonetheless. Idols have to be good looking now that more and more have both the combination of looks and talent(s). Face it, if you get to choose between a beautiful, talented girl and an average-looking one with equal talents, you would choose the former.

That's the entertainment industry. And idols now have to sing, dance, and entertain while maintaining their image. How insanely tough can that be? There is practically no time to rest for them for they have to go on numerous shows to stand out in the sea of other idols. They have to outshine the existing, popular bands. Not just that, they have to ensure that upcoming rookie groups that are debuting would not take their place. They have to be constantly smiling for their actions are being watched by all the fans be it through fancams or interviews.

It's just so tough. It's even tougher than a high-paying job such as, I don't know, a doctor? A lawyer? At least they can rest and not be scolded by all the fans who claim that they're growing proud after being popular or the ilk.

All that I've said is specifically about the korean music and entertainment industry. For the idols dont' receive a lot of pay, especially if their earnings have to be splitted amongst their group members. Of course, the more popular ones will receive more assignments and hence earn more revenue. But still, the pay isn't attractive.

I guess most of them started out with the idea that they want to pursue their passion. If such a burning desire to become idols lasts for that individual's lifetime and that person succeeds, good for him. If it doesn't, then what other alternative paths can they turn to?

I know some idols set up cafes after they're famous. I think Gary from Running Man runs his own cafe. But what if the idol isn't famous and he just... Dies? Not in the literal way. Nobody would recognise him, no matter how passionate he is. It's just so sad. :/

Cold Bean Curd (and X-Rays)

I've been eating these like CRAZY.

Anyway the picture above is taken off their website. It's supposedly a pretty famous brand with loads of chain stalls. This is like, my 5th bowl? (Yes I'm having one right now)

They're darn awesome and delicious! Bought them somewhere in Boon Lay. It's near a Community Centre. There're three stores there, the other store even have durian and almond flavoured ones. The latter isn't as nice as the above, plus it's 50 cents more expensive.

It melts in your mouth after a while. Smooth and rather milky. Not thick or rich in taste though, could have been better. But what can you expect from something that costs a dollar?

Also, I really want to try this after reading scene.sg:

It looks so adorable! :D But kind of expensive... And it doesn't look tasty. :O

Okay, jumping to the next thing that I want to say~ (On a more serious note...)

MY SPLINTER IS KILLING ME!

It's kind of serious actually. Basically, I somehow got something stuck on my middle finger. It made everything terrible. Typing, tying or washing my hair, holding things, grabbing things, anything. Plus I have to be constantly pointing my middle finger to avoid accidental contact iwth any object so I look kind of rude.

Meh. (-.-)

The terrible thing is this: I think I broke my splinter while trying to get it out and now it can't be seen anymore. But it hurts when it comes into contact with something. I can feel that it's deeply embedded under my skin. :( So Dad dragged me to the doctor's and I just did an X-ray.

I did an X-Ray while pointing my middle finger. Rather funny.

But the thing is if it's too deep I think the doctor's gonna do an incision or something. Freaking out freaking out freaking out. D:

I've got cold sore.

Yes, I've got cold sore... AGAIN.

It's a recurring (and deadly annoying) pain in the ass. Oh well. Ah ma gave me this 55 year old salted lychee concoction to apply on my lips. She said it'll cure it within a day but it HURTS SO MUCH.

Seriously, it's adding salt to my wound literally. Ultra painful and it sizzles like crazy! Screamed and ran to the toilet and splashed water on my lips like a mad woman.

So anyway, I've been eating a lot (as usual) although my A level Oral Presentation (Project Work~) is coming up.

Seriously chewy junior should offer discounts. I'll buy the entire shop. It's so chewy! love the dough. I used to love J.CO but this bought me over.

For korea fanatics, you're right, that's dukbokki. The spiciest one is in daegu or something? (Junsu from 2pm said he wants to open up his dukbokki shop there lol.)

Anyway, it's super bland. The rice cakes are, well... Tasteless. And it's not the compressed rice kind of texture, it's just like RUBBER. Super sucky, especially when it turns cold.

Tasteless rubber. Yeap.

That's... A random mix of ingredients. Also from a korean shop.

That's just a giant fish that has an infinite number of bones. Super troublesome, it's as though I'll choke to death at any instant.

I love guo tie (and xiao long bao even more) heaps! Need a lot of vinegar though. I don't like kiam siap stall owners who give super little vinegar when we order a lot of guo ties. :S

Anyway, I finished work some time back (was working as a waitress for a company function/event. It's Nordson or Nordon or something cannot remember, some science-driven company. Loads of equipment about chips I think) and the people in charge are suuuuuper nice. Cab fare provided and it's $10 an hour! (but only four hours so yeah) They're really nice too! And and and!

I GOT 2 BOXES OF ECLAIR AND PUFFS! (: Not those hopeless eclairs with empty fillings, it's filled to the brim with ice cream! (: Kia Luck took home one box (we shared heh) Super happy! :D And the job isn't stressful or ultra tedious. (:

I'll be working tomorrow and the day after as well, at Nex as a mioTV promoter. I can surprisingly remember nearly all the details that the ICs taught us during the training despite not paying attention. :O

Anyway the new circle line is ultra cool. It's so much faster to head to Serangoon from my area of residence now. And I've never been to that area before so it's as though the circle line is built especially for me. At least I would like to think that way. :D

Okay so I'll probably head down to Downtown East after work for the Helloween thing. (No, that wasn't a spelling mistake)

Hope that I'll meet nice people! Anyway I'll be working with two friends so it wouldn't be bad as well! Will tabao nice food from Nex for my parents to try too! Heh.

All girls dress up, right?

I guess dressing up is pretty important, especially when you're heading to town or attending something important. Anyway it's kind of boring if you always wear the same old shirt, although that same old shirt can be your favourite and most comfortable ones. (Guilty.)

So anyway, being overdressed or underdressed may make you stick out in a not-so-nice way.

Many a times, accessories can help you look more formal. Watches, for instance, can even make you look sporty lol. You know, like the kind of people who go for runs every now and then.

There're loads of ways in which you can pair up a watch with. The first is obviously when you're wearing something sporty (and if you need to time yourself)

MUFFINS, anyone?

Who says baking belongs solely to a female's domain? There are so many male bakers and chefs out there. So don't be lazy and you really should try baking for a change (if you haven't already)

Now that Exams are over (at least for most JCs, I believe) you shouldn't attach yourself to the computer all day. And if you run out of ideas, you should bake! :D Even if it tastes yucky, there'll be a sense of satisfaction and possibly pride heh.

Anyway! It can be tedious to mix and stir so as to get the most chewy cookies. So I guess you can always start off with muffins!

They are reaaaaally easy to make. You don't even have to stir them properly, in fact you're NOT supposed to stir them properly.

LOOKS IMMENSELY GROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSS I KNOW. But it turns out delicious and beautiful (not realleh, since they're muffins.) afterwards! So bear with it!

You're supposed to just leave some chunky bits alone to make the muffins chewy or something. There're numerous online recipes, you just have to google it. :D

You can even shop for cupcake wrappers if you're planning to bake for someone. Ooooooor just to celebrate the end of exams in general.

I am unable to find workable links for Liar Game Season Two. :( And I cannot load Season 10 of Family Guy as well (there're two episodes already and I've watched none!) Well I could only watch the first five minutes of episode one, WHICH WAS AWESOME. Love the comedy! You should seriously try it if you've yet to.

So anyway, I've currently at Season II of Liar Game and it's still rather entertaining and definitely smart thus far. You guys should really watch it! :D (Especially if you're bored)

I've been collecting pine cones recently. I've got like... Eight or so? Really gorgeous and well spread out. Dad says the temple sprays them till they're gold and it's supposed to have some special property (ward off evil or something along that line)

A long time ago, but not that long ago, I was bored during Project Work class and made miniature lovelies with Qing Yi lol.

You have to admit that they're not bad.

No idea why there's a bee though.

Think I've posted the mushrooms before but I'll do it again anyway. They're no longer at my void deck though... :( They dried up and died, then got carried away by rain or buried under the grass.

A couple of butterfly prawns and croquette (pronounced as crow-cat) from mos burger. Definitely over priced, considering that its just a potato croquette.

And finally, giant raisins that honestly don't taste good.

I've been watching Liar Game these days (There're two seasons and a supposedly smashing awesome movie as the finale.)

I'm still at episode seven of Season One. It's pretty cool thus far, really smart and all. It's kind of mathematical and psychological, the solutions are all pretty intriguing but I don't think the actors and actresses did a good job in portraying that. But that's just my opinion, loads of people love it to tiny bits and pieces and you will probably be one of them. (:

Oh, thought I'll mention this: It's a Japanese drama. So if you're the type who hates reading subtitles then forget it. :P

If I were to have a robot, it must definitely be as fast as Flash. For I genuinely lack patience and I need things to be done efficiently else I'll get annoyed and pissed!

I think speed is the most vital aspect. Of course, I'm assuming that accuracy is not compromised. Sounds impossible?

Anyway, I watched the trailer of Real Steel.

It reminds me of Iron Man and Transformers actually, and it looks kind of cool (except without a hot chick in the movie) Something that guys and girls will enjoy me thinks. I also have a feeling that it'll have a sad ending. :( I just liked Real Steel Singapore's Facebook Page.

Going to read: Forgot the title, but it's this book about a girl loving her imaginary friend by James Patterson. That's right, it's him again. Shall attempt to read most of his books until I get bored, which will be soon I presume.

Here're the mushrooms that used to be at my void deck. They're now dried up and brown, and recently vanished. I believe they'll come back soon after the rain.

It's really cool how spores are dispersed by nature. It's also really cool that Spore is like, the BEST game that I've ever played and gotten myself immensely addicted to. Really you guys should check it out. It's old, but awesome beyond imagination.

Shall carry this pouch instead of my Dobby haversack cause too many people have it. (-.-) It's like everywhere I go, there's at least some girl or woman carrying it.

Cute dog right? It's in one of the books that I've read recently. Like I've said, will post the book titles up another day.

Now Reading: Chapter four of A Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde.

This looks relatively simple. No oven required, just a microwave and the fridge. I figured out that I can replace the mixer by smashing the biscuits violently, in a plastic bag.

Anyway just for your information, the base is made from melted butter and smashed wholemeal biscuits, the middle section is basically creamy (and very expensive) cheese and the top layer is purely agar agar. And the heart-shaped object is obviously a gross nose.

Wish me luck. Or I may get lazy and just head to the zoo. :P

Thiiiiiiiiiiiis, on the other hand, is tentative. It looks painfully difficult to reconstruct. Might replace with gooey marshmallows if I'm lazy.

Anyway when I was young I ~~stole~~ took an egg from the fridge (without permission, sorry ah ma!) and, holding it firmly with chopsticks, burnt it under a lit candle. I thought it'll boil but it just turned black and smelly. :(

Also, I'm at book three of Percy Jackson. It isn't for my age and it does not keep me in suspense at all. Was looking forward to it cause a friend of mine said it was awesome and she even rented it at like, five bucks per book just so that she can read it.

Turns out the school stocked up on the whole series, so why not?

I just came across this blogger who draws amazing apparels and accessories! Here're some of her work! The shading and pencil work is genuinely astounding.

I'm always envious of people who can draw really well and their work actually looks nice after colouring. For my case it's more like, distorted after drawing. Then it's beyond recognition after colouring.

Not sure if you get what I mean but oh well.

But I think sheer material is really cool (and they're thin, which is perfect for Singapore) On a side note, I need to start wearing my boots otherwise they'll just crack or something.

Shoes are weird, the more you wear them out, the comfier they get, the less likely they'll die on you the next time you wear them.

The following photos are taken ages ago. (Suddenly reminded of 24's beginning, you know the part in which Jack Bauer recites a couple of lines with his cool voice. Oh and he voiced as this black dog in a movie.)

HONEY STARS! The tastiest stars in the Universe! (Like real. I hate it it's so sweet! Brought it cause Sam loves it like crazy.)
Anyway, was studying in the school canteen a loooong loooong time ago and we got bored. So he threw stars in the air and caught them with his mouth. I tried it too, but I only succeeded (barely a success) once. Quite fun.
The mama shop also earned loads of cash from us both,

By the way, I camped in the library (Jurong West) for six hours today! :D Didn't do a lot of Math but it was better than yesterday, which was spent playing Sims Social and watching random Youtube videos. I also made a really fun list of Things-To-Do-After-Promos.
To list a few...
- Get a certificate as a Beginner in horse riding (Thanks for the reccommendation, Jaslyn!) Will probably start in late November after Project Work. (:
- I'm also gonna go to the Safra playground with my friends. (Once again thanks Jaslyn!)
- Sakura buffet.
- Might be learning korean.
- Take up a dancing course. Probably hip hop. With friends whom I genuinely hope wouldn't hate this idea after Promos!
- Yam Cha and Zoo.
Got a lot more intriguing places to go and play but I'm lazy to type. :P My phrasings are getting more and more messed up these days, I think it's because of Math. Yes, it must be.

Alexa Meade: Real life painting

American artist alexa meade creates her representational paintings directly on her subjects, covering people and objects in layers of acrylic paint before photographing them. the works offer an unusual conflation of painting, installation, and photography, as the three-dimensional forms are collapsed in space, taking on a 2D appearance in the prints. in her exhibitions, meade frequently paints over small rooms in which a human subject sits for the duration of the show, offering a performative aspect to her work.

In Uganda, protesters are sprayed with colored water by the police, To identify and arrest them later. Many water cannons on the market today come with a tank specially designed to store a semi-permanent colored dye. If police decide they want to “tag” protesters with the dye, they can press a button to inject it into the main water stream. Once the water cannon is trained on a crowd, anyone hit by the spray will be easily recognizable by police. Uganda isn’t the only country to use dye in its water cannons: During the last 15 years, protesters in Hungary, Indonesia, Israel and India have all been showered with colored water.

The above is some soft... What do you call that thing. Mochi, yes mochi. Except WITH PEACH FROZEN YOGURT INSIDE! Super delicious!

I love fried yam! (inserts glittery heart)

Smart me forgot to take a photo of the contents. But anyway tihs is really cheap steam boat, like $5.50 only? The serving is pretty large, with the better ingredients being enoki mushrooms (did I spell them darlings right?) and prawns. Mostly veggies but you get to cook your own meal like Pepper Lunch so it's okay. :D

Tomorrow shall be homework-at-Macs day (I believe it'll end up unproductive) The last time I tried (Last Sunday, at the school canteen) I ended up tossing honey stars and milo balls up in the air and trying to catch them with my mouth (and eat them). Wasted a fraction of the lot, fed 4 bits to the adorable birds. That's about it LOL.

These days have been average, nothing awesome of extremely fun. Just plain ol' plain ol' sort of thing. Promos are popping soon and I'm not the least bit worried although I've yet to finish my HOMEWORK. Yes I shouldn't be whining here on my blog.

Long ago there lived a King and Queen who said every day, "If only we had a child!" But for a long time they had none.

One day, as the Queen was bathing in a spring and dreaming of a child, a frog crept out of the water and said to her, "Your wish shall be fulfilled. Before a year has passed you shall bring a daughter into the world."

And since frogs are such magical creatures, it was no surprise that before a year had passed the Queen had a baby girl. The child was so beautiful and sweet that the King could not contain himself for joy. He prepared a great feast and invited all his friends, family and neighbours. He invited the fairies, too, in order that they might be kind and good to the child. There were thirteen of them in his kingdom, but as the King only had twelve golden plates for them to eat from, one of the fairies had to be left out. None of the guests was saddened by this as the thirteenth fairy was known to be cruel and spiteful.

An amazing feast was held and when it came to an end, each of the fairies presented the child with a magic gift. One fairy gave her virtue, another beauty, a third riches and so on -- with everything in the world that anyone could wish for.

After eleven of the fairies had presented their gifts, the thirteenth suddenly appeared. She was angry and wanted to show her spite for not having been invited to the feast. Without hesitation she called out in a loud voice,

"When she is fifteen years old, the Princess shall prick herself with a spindle and shall fall down dead!"

Then without another word, she turned and left the hall.

The guests were horrified and the Queen fell to the floor sobbing, but the twelfth fairy, whose wish was still not spoken, quietly stepped forward. Her magic could not remove the curse, but she could soften it so she said,

"Nay, your daughter shall not die, but instead shall fall into a deep sleep that will last one hundred years."

Over the years, the promises of the fairies came true -- one by one. The Princess grew to be beautiful, modest, kind and clever. Everyone who saw her could not help but love her.

The King and Queen were determined to prevent the curse placed on the Princess by the spiteful fairy and sent out a command that all the spindles in the whole kingdom should be destroyed. No one in the kingdom was allowed to tell the Princess of the curse that had been placed upon her for they did not want her to worry or be sad.

On the morning of her fifteenth birthday, the Princess awoke early -- excited to be another year older. She was up so early in the morning, that she realized everyone else still slept. The Princess roamed through the halls trying to keep herself occupied until the rest of the castle awoke. She wandered about the whole place, looking at rooms and halls as she pleased and at last she came to an old tower. She climbed the narrow, winding staircase and reached a little door. A rusty key was sticking in the lock and when she turned it, the door flew open.

In a little room sat an old woman with a spindle, busily spinning her flax. The old woman was so deaf that she had never heard the King's command that all spindles should be destroyed.

"Good morning, Granny," said the Princess, "what are you doing?"

"I am spinning," said the old woman.

"What is the thing that whirls round so merrily?" asked the Princess and she took the spindle and tried to spin too.

But she had scarcely touched the spindle when it pricked her finger. At that moment she fell upon the bed which was standing near and lay still in a deep sleep.

The King, Queen and servants had all started their morning routines and right in the midst of them fell asleep too. The horses fell asleep in the stable, the dogs in the yard, the doves on the roof and the flies on the wall. Even the fire in the hearth grew still and went to sleep. The kitchen maid, who sat with a chicken before her, ready to pluck its feathers, fell asleep. The cook was in the midst of scolding the kitchen boy for a mess he'd made but they both fell fast asleep. The wind died down and on the trees in front of the castle not a leaf stirred.

Round the castle a hedge of brier roses began to grow up. Every year it grew higher until at last nothing could be seen of the sleeping castle.

There was a legend in the land about the lovely Sleeping Beauty, as the King's daughter was called, and from time to time Princes came and tried to force their way through the hedge and into the castle. But they found it impossible for the thorns, as though they were alive, grabbed at them and would not let them through.

After many years a Prince came again to the country and heard an old man tell the tale of the castle which stood behind the brier hedge and the beautiful Princess who had slept within for a hundred years. He heard also that many Princes had tried to make it through the brier hedge but none had succeeded and many had been caught in it and died.

The the young Prince said, "I am not afraid. I must go and see this Sleeping Beauty."

The good old man did all in his power to persuade him not to go, but the Prince would not listen.

Now the hundred years were just ended. When the Prince approached the brier hedge it was covered with beautiful large roses. The shrubs made way for him of their own accord and let him pass unharmed.

In the courtyard, the Prince saw the horses and dogs lying asleep. On the roof sat the sleeping doves with their heads tucked under their wings. When he went into the house, the flies were asleep on the walls and the servants asleep in the halls. Near the throne lay the King and Queen, sleeping peacefully beside each other. In the kitchen the cook, the kitchen boy and the kitchen maid all slept with their heads resting on the table.

The Prince went on farther. All was so still that he could hear his own breathing. At last he reached the tower and opened the door into the little room where the Princess was asleep. There she lay, looking so beautiful that he could not take his eyes off her. He bent down and gave her a kiss. As he touched her, Sleeping Beauty opened her eyes and smiled up at him.

Throughout the castle, everyone and everything woke up and looked at each other with astonished eyes. Within the month, the Prince and Sleeping Beauty were married and lived happily all their lives.

Now reading: Why We Buy, The Science of Shopping by Paco Underhill (updated and revised)

Watched this last night at the esplanade. This is AWESOOOOOME seriously, humourous, great flow, perfect voices, plot twists, creativity bursts, and it links up all the fairy tales. Go watch it if your pocket permits! :D

Now reading: Slumdog Millionaire (previously published as Q & A) by Vikas Swarup. GO BORROW THAT BOOK IT'S AWESOME. THE FLOW IS GREAT, THE STORIES ARE GREAT, DEFINITELY A PAGE TURNER. (the middle portion is sliiiightly boring though, about war. I hate war.)

Oh and before I read the aforementioned book, I scanned through Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. The greater the expectations, the greater the disappointment indeed. I was bored after the second chapter and couldn't stand it after an eighth of the book, so yeap started flipping.

What I'm doing now: Going to drink (water) from a giant orange bottle that reads 'Pokka, carrot fruit juice'

Okay, so I really wanted to do my homework cause it's due tomorrow. But I ended up settling some CCA administrative matters so today's gone. :O

On a brighter note, this weekend will be fun cause I'll be watching a play tomorrow, plus I'll be playing Wii for the first time ever on Saturday. :D Monday to Wednesday is NATIONAL DAY CELEBRATION so there will be no lesson on Monday and no school altogether on Tuesday and Wednesday! Will probably go to Sakura for a buffet with Sam.

I don't know why you're reading all these though, this post isn't interesting. Will make it up by posting a poem though! I googled 'best poem' and got this as one of the results.

So basically, the above pictures (done by the Chinese from China) isn't torture, WOW!

Now let me highlight that torturing is different from eating. The latter doesn't make us omnivores guilt-free though. But the point is that torturing them as a supposed CLASS EXPERIMENT is way out of line.

I'm not targeting China (I do have friends from China and they are NOTHING like that.) but I have to admit, most of the sick stuff come from them.

Remember the animal porn? People were PAYING to watch hideous women covered in layers of make up STEP chicks or hamsters or kittens to DEATH? And like, stab the poor kittens and lick their blood (WTF WTF?)

And human meat buns?

And the train derailed, why so? I suspect the reason coincides with what caused the collapse of the school, killing so many kids, during the earthquake. We all know the reason.

And the milk powder, they even want to kill BABIES oh god.

And a friend jsut told me the issue about the bears. Basically, they keep blakc bears in tiny cages and RIP OPEN THEIR STOMACH TO COLLECT JUICES and prevent them from dying. So it's like, ENDLESS PAIN. For 20 YEARS.

T-W-E-N-T-Y. Y-E-A-R-S.

One of the bears tried to commit suicide cause it was so painful and it kept punching its stomach where the hole is. So from that day onwards, the people CHOPPED OFF THEIR LIMBS.

One of the bears were pregnant. When she gave birth to her child, she BIT THE CHILD UNTIL IT DIED AND STARTED CRYING. Obviously you don't want your child to suffer for twenty years like this!

I think the government really needs to do something, considering their rising status in the economic arena. I doubt any country would be considered developed, much less advanced, considering all the screw ups along the way.

Size zero

Chocolates, chips, chocolate chips, am starving,
Bemoaning fate, they do look appealing.
How to negate their existence, he is questioning,
Albeit the incipient disgust forming.
Temptation lurks like a shadow showing,
He gorged abjectly, hitherto satisfying.

Dig it up, Deep down food is churning.
Everything gushed out the throat, still sizzling.
He collapsed, laid down, still smiling.
"Gorgeous." he grinned at the pile spreading.

Sitting up, he gazed upon his ribs showing,
Perfection dawns on him, happiness overwhelming.
He collapsed with a thud, eyes shutting,
Nobody knew, as he rests there lying.

Since the inception, he knew this will be entailing,
Repercussion severe, deadly, but found it motivating.
His intentions explicated since the beginning,
Inherent lust for figure haplessly in him, transpiring.

The above poem was sent to 14.59 by myself (and it did got published in the June issue.)

When I showed it to my friend, Jaslyn, she went 'You should have written a 'she' instead.' That was my exact intentions. Anorexia doesn't have to be solely for FEMALES. That's a stereotype, although it's generally true. But I just wanted to highlight the fact that this can, and has happened, to guys.

I especially liked the beginning. I wanted for the same words to have different meanings when combined. Hence 'chocolates', 'chips' and 'chocolate chips'. Me thinks it's cool. (:

Anyway, practically all (yes, ALL) my poems rhyme, no matter how awkward it is I WILL make them rhyme. I hate poems that don't rhyme, it seems so... Lazy.

Saw this book lying on the shelves in our school (it was beside another book called Witches or something, and that book is GREEN. Like, you know a book has 6 sides right? 3 sides are the covers and the spine. But this book has the remaining book in GREEN. Super cool!) and I read the first three pages or so and borrowed it.

After reading a third of it and scanning through the rest, I have confirmed my hypothesis:
